Since 1926, Macdonald’s Prescriptions has been serving the Lower Mainland’s health needs with the finest in pharmacy services. Macdonald’s Prescriptions continues to grow and flourish because of the vision and strong roots that were planted more than 85 years ago by two brothers, Austin and Vans Macdonald. Throughout the years, we have developed and maintained a variety of outstanding services to meet the needs of patients and health care professionals.
The entire Macdonald’s Prescriptions staff pride themselves in the tradition of the knowledge and experience which they have acquired over the years. More importantly, we are sincere in our concern to assist you in solving your special health or pharmacy needs. We are proud of our reputation for excellence and service and we intend to keep it.
Vince graduated with a degree in pharmacy from UBC in 1974. Vince has been employed at Macdonald’s Prescriptions since 1974. Soon after, he became Pharmacy Manager for Macdonald’s #2. In 1985, he purchased the Macdonald’s where he continues to operate the business. He has enjoyed the professional aspect of working at Macdonald’s Prescriptions and is a specialist in compounding and chemicals.
Vince was born in Italy and moved to Canada in 1955 where his family settled in Vancouver. Vince enjoys golfing and going to his cabin on the Sunshine Coast in his free time. Vince is happily married and has three grown children and one grandchild.

Retail Pharmacy Staff
Pharmacist/Owner/Manager - Fairmont Location
Jeff has been working in the pharmacy industry since 1985 and graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy at UBC in 1993. He started working at Macdonald’s Prescriptions in 1991. Jeff is a co-owner and the Pharmacy Manager at the Fairmont Medical Building. As a compounding specialist, Jeff is able to provide specialty pharmaceuticals that are unavailable elsewhere, such as compound creams, sterile eye drops and injection preparations.
He is actively involved with Ophthalmologists throughout BC who specialize in sterile ocular injections for macular degeneration. He also specializes in areas such as asthma, hepatitis C and erectile dysfunction. Jeff continues to build his clinical pharmacy skills and is licensed to give injections and provides medication reviews for his patients. Jeff has been happily married for 19 years after meeting his wife Jackie while travelling in 1995, and enjoys being a dad to 3 young children.
Pharmacist/Owner/Manager- Renal Pharmacy

Ben graduated with a degree in Pharmacy in 1975 from UBC. Ben joined the Macdonald’s Prescriptions team in 1992. Ben feels that Macdonald’s Prescriptions provides a friendly environment that allows him to be an important part of the renal team serving those registered with the BC Provincial Renal Agency. Ben works closely with the BCPRA and provides patients all across British Columbia with Erythropoietin Hormone Replacement Therapy. Ben’s proficiency in his native Chinese language has enabled him to help our Oriental clients tremendously in their pharmaceutical care.
Ben has been married for 30 years and has two grown children.
Operations Manager - Renal Pharmacy and Clinics
Michelle has been working in the pharmaceutical business since the ripe old age of 10 when she began dusting the shelves at Macdonald’s Prescriptions. She graduated from the University of Victoria in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Throughout her time in Victoria, she worked for pharmacies in both Duncan and Victoria. After graduation, she thought ‘what better place to work than Macdonald’s Prescriptions?’ She began working in the Renal Pharmacy in May 2006 and eventually moved into the Clinics Department. She enjoys the fast pace environment of the Renal Pharmacy and dealing with Physicians and Nurses on a daily basis to help ensure their medical crash carts meet the needs of the Colleges.
In her spare time, she enjoys going to her family cabin on the Sunshine Coast, spinning and spending time with her husband and child.

Operations Manager/Registered Pharmacy Technician-Fairmont Location
Rani began working with Macdonald’s Prescriptions in 2000 as a Pharmacy Technician and later became licensed as a Regulated Technician in 2014.
Over the years Rani has worked in every department in the pharmacy from compliance packing to compounding. She is very knowledgeable in both sterile and non-sterile compounding with 15+ years of experience. In 2015 she became a member of the college compounding task group.
All of this experience allows her to offer our patients the best care possible.
In her spare time she likes to travel with her husband and experience new cultures. She also lives an active lifestyle and enjoys running, hiking, playing beach volleyball, and walking her dog Frankie.
Pharmacist/Assistant Manager - Fairmont Location
Dan graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy at UBC in 2007. After working a few years as a pharmacist in Oliver, Dan joined the pharmacy team at MacDonald’s Prescriptions in January 2010. Dan has a calm demeanor that has endeared him to our patients almost instantly. His dedication to the profession, knowledge of pharmaceuticals and good common sense has proved to be an asset to the team at MacDonald’s Prescriptions. As an example, Dan has worked closely with physicians from BC Cancer Agency and Vancouver General Hospital in providing care for palliative care patients suffering with cancer pain.
Dan is married and is a wonderful dad to his two children.
Pharmacist - Renal Pharmacy
Danka immigrated to Canada from her native Croatia where she graduated in 1980 and worked as a licensed pharmacist for 14 years. We were very fortunate that Danka came knocking on our door looking for employment as a pharmacy assistant. Having experience in compounding, Danka quickly became our main compounding technician in our compounding lab. After obtaining her Canadian pharmacy license in 2000, Danka was transferred to work as a pharmacist in our Renal Pharmacy. During the last 15 years, Danka has become one of the most knowledgeable renal pharmacists in British Columbia. Her knowledge of renal disease and medication has made Macdonald’s Prescriptions a true renal centre resource in B.C. Her dedication to her patients is second to none and the appreciation shown to her by her patients and peers prove that.
Danka is married and has one grown daughter.
Stephanie graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy at UBC in 2006. Stephanie started working at Macdonald’s Prescriptions as a student and upon completion of licensure in 2005, was hired as a pharmacist. She is an excellent staff pharmacist, who along with taking care of walk-in patients and clients is responsible for patients who make use of our compliance packaging service. She is also involved in working with doctors to dispense and deliver injectable anti-psychotics to respective psychiatric clinics in Metro Vancouver. Stephanie is licensed to administer injections. Having knowledge of natural hormone replacement therapy, Stephanie is one of the few pharmacists in Canada who has expertise with the Wiley Protocol program.
Outside of pharmacy, Stephanie is an excellent vocalist and lends her voice not only in her church, but also to the nationally acclaimed Elektra Women’s Choir.
Pharmacist - Renal Pharmacy
Tammy graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy of University of Alberta in 2008. Tammy joined our pharmacy team at the Renal Pharmacy in August of 2010. She is passionate about medication management in kidney disease. Her knowledge of pharmaceuticals has made her an excellent provider of pharmaceutical care to our renal patients. Her language skills in Cantonese and Mandarin have also helped her provide excellent care and help to our Oriental patients.
Tammy was born and raised in Vancouver and went to Little Flower Academy. Outside pharmacy, she has appeared as a soloist, concert mistress and first violinist in local recitals and charity concerts.
Pharmacist - Renal Pharmacy
Dan joined our pharmacy team in the Renal Pharmacy in January of 2011 after graduating from the Faculty of Pharmacy at UBC in 2010 as a mature student. Along with his pharmacy training, this has enabled him to help our patients with empathy and patience. Dan feels extremely fortunate to be working with such a dedicated team at Macdonald’s Prescriptions and particularly enjoys attending evening and weekend seminars and symposiums to further enhance his clinical knowledge and skills in his community practice.
In addition to his pharmaceutical expertise, Dan with his wife Mary Ann, both enjoy experiencing Vancouver’s culinary diversity and have many great recommendations on the city’s best eats!
Pharmacist - Fairmont Location
Janice joined the pharmacy team in November 2015. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from UBC in 2012 and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry in 2006. She is a caring and self-motivated pharmacist with a passion for helping patients with their medication needs. Janice is fascinated with the vast array of specialty pharmaceutical drugs dispensed at Macdonald`s Prescriptions. She always pays attention to detail to ensure her patients receive the highest level in care.
Outside of pharmacy, Janice enjoys Latin and Ballroom dancing. She also loves to travel and learn new languages. She is capable of speaking Cantonese, Mandarin, French, and some Spanish and Japanese.
