Since 1926, Macdonald's Prescriptions has been serving the Lower Mainland's health needs with the finest in pharmacy service. Founders Austin and Vans Macdonald initiated this commitment by establishing the inaugural Macdonald's Prescriptions in the Georgia Medical Building. Vince Zuccaro
Retired Pharmacist / Owner Emeritus
About Vince +
zVince, a UBC pharmacy graduate in
1974, joined Macdonald's Prescriptions that same year. Soon after, he became Pharmacy Manager
for Macdonald's #2. On April 1st, 1985, he purchased Macdonald's where he continued to
operate the business until 2020. A compounding and chemicals specialist, Vince's enduring
dedication has shaped Macdonald's legacy. Although Vince slowly began his retirement in 2020,
he still keeps a space on our website as we would not be where we are today without his dedication
and commitment to Macdonald's.
Vince was born in Italy and moved to Canada in 1955 where
his family settled in Vancouver. During his retirement, Vince has been enjoying golfing, going to
his cabin on the Sunshine Coast spending time with his two grandsons and travelling with his wife.
Jeff Curtis
Senior Pharmacist Consultant
About Jeff +
Jeff, a pharmacy industry professional since 1985 and a UBC Faculty of Pharmacy graduate in 1993, joined Macdonald's Prescriptions in 1991. Currently serving as a co-owner and Pharmacy Manager at the Fairmont Medical Building location, Jeff excels as a compounding specialist. His expertise allows him to offer unique pharmaceutical solutions, including compound creams, sterile eye drops and injection preparations that are unavailable elsewhere.
Michelle Zuccaro

About Michelle +
Michelle's venture into the pharmaceutical business began at the age of 10 when she started dusting the shelves at Macdonald's Prescriptions. A University of Victoria graduate, she worked in pharmacies in both Duncan and Victoria during her time there. She began working in the Renal Pharmacy and Clinics Department in 2006. In 2012, Michelle moved into the position of Director of Operations, where she now oversees the company as a whole. She thrives in the fast-paced environment and can be heard saying 'you'll never watch paint dry on the walls of Macdonald's since there is always something to do!'
Eva Willingdon
Registered Pharmacy Technician / Lab Manager
About Eva +
Eva graduated from university in 2002, becoming a Licensed Pharmacy Technician in 2005. She joined Macdonald's Prescriptions in 2017 and soon after became the Compounding Lab Manager. She enjoys being able to problem solve for all of her patients and physicians.
Mike Athanassakis
Pharmacist / Fairmont Pharmacy Manager
About Mike +
zMike graduated from the Faculty of
Pharmacy at UBC in 2014. Mike joined our pharmacy team in the Fairmont Location in 2019. He enjoys
helping patients find solutions to their issues and education patients on how they can optimize
their health.
Outside of work, Mike enjoys playing recreational hockey, golfing, reading
health and history books, collecting sneakers and venturing to every Italian restaurant in the Lower
Mainland.
Fun fact: Mike was a 3-time spelling bee champion as a child!

Our History
Since 1926, Macdonald's Prescriptions has been serving the Lower Mainland's health needs with the finest in pharmacy service. Founders Austin and Vans Macdonald initiated this commitment by establishing the inaugural Macdonald's Prescriptions in the Georgia Medical Building. The company's core principles were rooted in delivering exceptional customer service and offering medical services not available elsewhere in Vancouver.
In the 1960's, Austin's son, Bruce, joined the family legacy as joining Macdonald's as a pharmacist. In 1962, Macdonald's #2 opened in the Fairmont Medical Building, a location that stands to this day. Over the following 15 years, Bruce expanded the business with two additional locations. In 1974, Vince Zuccaro joined the team at Macdonald's Prescriptions #2 and swiftly became the Pharmacy Manager. In 1985, Vince and Tony Fera acquired Macdonald's Prescriptions #2 and its Compounding Lab. Together, they continued the legacy of providing healthcare services to their patients. In 2006, Tony retired and Macdonald's Prescriptions welcomed Jeff Curtis (apart of Macdonald's since 1995) and Ben Lee as part of the management team. Since then, Ben Lee has retired and Vince's daughter, Michelle has joined the team. Vince officially retired in 2020, welcoming both Eva Willingdon and Mike Athanassakis to the management team.
Over the years, we have developed and maintained a range of outstanding services to meet the needs of patients and health care professionals. The entire Macdonald's Prescriptions staff pride themselves in the tradition of the knowledge and experience which they have acquired over the years. More importantly, we are sincere in our concern to assist you in solving your special health or pharmacy needs. We are proud of our reputation for excellence and service and we intend to keep it. Macdonald's Prescriptions continues to grow and flourish because of the vision and strong roots that were planted by the Macdonald brothers almost 100 years ago.
